Privacy and Cookie Policy

Consult our policies for the protection of personal data and the use of cookies, in compliance with current regulations.

Information provided pursuant to art. 13-14 of the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) 2016/679

What are cookies and what are they for?

Cookies are electronic markers and are composed of information not directly connected with the information content requested by the user. Cookies are placed in the user’s browser when the user visits any website or uses a web application with his computer, smartphone or tablet. Each cookie contains various data such as, for example, the name of the server from which it comes, a numerical identifier, etc.

Cookies can remain in the browser for the duration of a session (i.e. until the user closes the browser used for browsing) or for long periods and can contain a unique identification code. Some cookies are used to perform computer authentication, monitor sessions and store specific information about users who access a web page.

These so-called technical cookies are often useful because they can make browsing and using the web faster, because for example they intervene to facilitate certain procedures during online purchases, when accessing restricted areas or when a website automatically recognizes the user’s language. A particular type of cookie, called analytics (analytical or statistical), are then used by website managers to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site itself, and therefore develop general statistics on the service and its use. Other cookies, called profiling cookies, can instead be used to monitor users while browsing the web to study their movements, browsing and consumption habits (what they buy, what they read, etc.), also for the purpose of sending advertisements for targeted and personalized services. This happens because Internet sites designed to use profiling cookies are able to recognize the user and/or his device used (computer, smartphone or tablet), in order to direct “profiled” promotional messages to the user based on previously performed searches and/or previously viewed websites.

A further element of distinction of cookies is linked to their origin.

First-party cookies are defined as all those cookies directly generated by the website you are viewing and managed by the owner of the same website. Third-party cookies are defined as all those cookies coming from other websites and contained in various elements hosted on the page that the user is viewing, such as advertising banners, images, videos, etc. Usually cookies managed by third parties are to be understood as profiling cookies.

How to disable cookies from your browser settings?

According to current legislation, the prior consent of users is not required for technical and analytics cookies, however it is possible to disable them by changing the settings of the browser in use; it is worth noting, as stated in the previous point, that this could make the sites unusable if the cookies essential for the provision of functions were blocked. Each browser has different settings for deactivating cookies; Below we offer links to the instructions for the most common browsers.

Alternatively, the user is invited to read the guide and/or help tools made available by the browser used.
